Ace shuttler PV Sindhi has scripted history by becoming first woman to win the BWF World Championships. Sindhu defeated Japan's Nozomi Okuhara in straight games 21-7, 21-7 to lift the women's singles title in Basel, Switzerland. Tollywood fraternity extended their wishes and took to their social media to congratulate the badminton star.

This is Sindhu's fifth medal at the World Championships. Apart from the two silvers Sindhu won in the last two editions, she had also won the bronze in 2013 and 2014.
